Installing your eSIM
iPhone
01
Tap Install on iPhone, or Settings › Cellular › Add eSIM › Use QR code.
02
Label the line Travel and keep your main line for calls.
03
Set the new line as your cellular data line when you arrive.
Android
01
Settings › Network & internet › SIMs › Add eSIM › Enter manually.
02
Paste the SM-DP+ address and activation code.
03
Enable the line and set it as your data SIM on arrival.
When you land
Turn on data roaming for your QuikRoam line and set it as your phone's data line, so your data use goes through it instead of your home carrier. Keep your regular SIM active if you still want calls and texts on your home number.
Before you buy
What is an eSIM?
A SIM that is built into your phone. Instead of inserting a card, you install a data plan by scanning a QR code or tapping a link.
Will my phone work?
Most phones from the last five years support eSIM, but carrier-locked phones and some regional models don't. Dial *#06#: if you see an EID, your phone supports eSIM. The Supported phones page has the details.
Do I need an account?
No. You check out with your email address. To see your eSIMs later, sign in under My eSIMs with a link we email you. There is no password.
When does my plan start?
For most plans, the days start when the eSIM first connects to a network at your destination, not when you buy or install it. If a plan works differently, it says so on the plan.
Can I make phone calls?
QuikRoam plans are data only, with no phone number. Call over WhatsApp or FaceTime, or use QuikRing (quikring.com), our calling service, to reach any phone number from your browser.
Installing
When should I install it?
Before you travel, while you still have Wi-Fi. Installing the eSIM doesn't start most plans; the first connection at your destination does.
The QR code won't scan or install
A QR code can only be used once. If you already installed it on another device, contact support instead of scanning it again.
I deleted the eSIM or changed phones
A QuikRoam eSIM installs once, on one phone, and can't be moved. If you removed it or switched phones, contact support before you buy again.
Using your data
No service after installing
Toggle airplane mode on and off, or restart your phone. Also confirm the plan has started: most plans activate on first connection, not at the time of purchase.
Data doesn't seem to work
Check that data roaming is on for the QuikRoam line, and that the APN for that line is set to automatic. Automatic is the default on almost every phone and rarely needs changing.
How much data do I have left?
Sign in under My eSIMs. Each eSIM shows what is left on every plan it carries.
Can I keep my normal SIM active?
Yes. Keep it on for calls and texts to your home number, and set the QuikRoam line as the one your phone uses for data.
Top-ups and refunds
How do I add more data?
Sign in under My eSIMs and choose Add data on the eSIM. The new plan is added to the same eSIM, so there is nothing to reinstall.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, within 30 days, as long as the eSIM hasn't been installed. Use the Request refund button on your order page. Once an eSIM is installed, we can refund only if we couldn't provide the service.
I didn't get my email
Check your spam folder first. Your eSIM is also on the order page shown after payment, and under My eSIMs when you sign in with the same email address.
